First I need to know what aspect of bids/tenders/proposals you need help with. My packages are flexible so I'm always happy to create a bespoke service to suit your needs, budget and timescales. We can have an initial video chat to discuss, or liaise via email: bestpracticebids@gmail.com I then provide a bespoke cost for the work agreed.
I work on a collaborative basis. I do the majority of the work of course - the writing, reading the tender docs, aligning your answers to specification, making sure your key points come across well in the tender, advising on what should be in each answer, etc. I also rely on you to provide me with your company information - especially if I haven't worked with you in the past. If I know nothing about your company, that just leaves me to write generic answers and with gaps for you to fill out - and that's going to be a waste of your money, because generic answers don't win contracts. The quality of the tender, is only as good as the information I have. To gain the full benefit of my service, and get the best value for your money, I encourage you to work WITH me, rather than me working FOR you.
I first need to see the tender documents. You let me know which sections you need help with, and the level of management/support you need. I then provide a cost for the work. Once payment is made, I read through the specification and bid questions/sections to formulate a list of information I'd need from you. We have a brainstorm/kick off video chat to go through the information, and for me to better understand your business and how you work. I write the first draft, and send it on the date agreed. You read and review the draft making comments, additions and send back to me to finalise. I send the final draft back to you.
Every tender is different. There is no one size fits all answers, and although some content can be re-used, I still need to ensure that that content can be used to answer the question, and then align it with the spec, and ensure that it's written in the right context. If it was a simple copy and paste job, you'd do the tender yourself, right? I charge not just for the writing, but everything else that goes into the process - reading the specification and all associated tender docs, communicating with you (emails, phone calls), setting up and preparing for the brainstorm, setting up answer documents, preparing a requirements list, etc.
Sure - I can manage the whole process from start to finish, as long as you let me know at the time of preparing the quote and specify the level of support you need from me. If I am submitting the tender on the online portal for you, please ensure that all requested documents necessary for submission are with me on the date stated on my emails. Sending these documents late, may result in a rushed submission which increases chances of something being missed. If due to delays on your end, the documents required are sent to me late, I am not responsible for any issues with the portal or the tender deadline being missed. It is your responsibility to ensure the documents are with me by the date/time requested.
I charge based on the level of support required, and the size of the tender. Every tender is different depending on the questions, how many pages/word counts, forms to fill out etc. The more work involved in the tender, the higher the price. You can also specify add-ons at the time of me preparing the quote (contact me for more details). I've also worked for 2 bid writing agencies, who would charge 2-3 x more than my rates. With me, you’re getting the same quality as what bid writing agencies offer, but for a bargain rate.
I specialise in writing high-quality tenders/bids/proposals - not a particular service industry. A website developer doesn't just specialise or design catering websites - he'll accomodate any website design because that's his area of expertise. The industry of the tender or your service doesn't make a difference, because I'll work collaboratively with you to produce a tender that stands the highest chance of winning. I know what the buyer wants to see in the answers, and I specialise in writing persuasively. I've completed tenders for a wide range of industries including construction, care/social sector, maintenance & repairs, cleaning, gas/electrical servicing, catering, healthcare, cleaning robots, damp proofing, legionella and IT, to name a few.
I'll write a bespoke proposal that's compliant, well-structured and tailored to the requirements of the buyer/authority You're getting equally the same quality of work of bid-writing agencies, for less than half the price You won't need to hire a permanent resource, saving you time and money I'm an experienced, certified bid writer - I apply my knowledge and experience to write a strong bid, pulling out your key USP and differentiators
No bid writer will ever offer you a guaranteed win - that's like a surgeon making a promise that the operation will be successful. You’ll never know what your competitors are offering and how they’re pricing their services compared to you. To be in with a chance of winning, you have to submit a high-quality tender (which is where I come in), but bear in mind the chance of losing, as much as winning the contract - a win is never guaranteed.
I do not offer a commission based service where a % of contract value or a bonus is offered for my services based on successful/won tenders. This is because: The tender could win on quality, but fail on pricing/costs you offered in your bid, which I have no control over The same amount of time, effort and hard work goes into each bid I work on, regardless of the outcome. My time/effort and knowledge needs to be reimbursed fairly
Should you decide to cancel the tender after acceptance of the quote: If some work has already been done on the tender: a £250 fee will be incurred or the time spent on the bid, whichever is greater (this will be confirmed by email) If no work has been done: a £100 admin fee will be retained by me. While I work with you, I set time aside for you and your bid; so any cancellations mean that I am unavailable for other clients and could potentially reject other work to accommodate your bid.
Once we develop a regular working relationship, and once we've worked on 10 bids together, I then offer a Loyalty Discount of 15% my prices.
